U.S. College Honors Director General
Director-General of UNESCO, Koichiro Matsuura, was awarded an honorary doctorate from Haverford College, his alma mater, on May 14, 2006. He was praised by Tom Tritton, President of Haverford, for his devotion to diplomacy and multilateralism. The Director-General also addressed the graduating class of 2006, encouraging them to “build bridges of international understanding in their lives.”
